Bora is firmly situated in the tradition of the region, the small Croatian town of Podgradina, which is heated on one side by the warm currents of the Novigrad Sea, and on the other by the Velebit bura.

The Benkovac-Stankovac vineyards, where the winery is located, are an ideal position for growing vines, because its orientation and the altitude at which the vineyards are located create the ideal soil for the best wine.

According to the local expression for strong, persistent, mossy and cold wind, its how Bora wines got their name. In this young winery, which grows daily as a promise of the Žuža family to their ancestors that they will follow the thought of leading their families about love, perseverance and devotion to the land, today with the help of modern viticultural and winemaking knowledge and technology wines are created to enjoy the most refined taste.

“Bora is a celebration and a rhythm of life. We produce wines for people who celebrate every moment, who dance, who see every opportunity for pleasure. Playful, precisely vinified, our wines brings out the best features of its climate and the terroir of the Benkovac-Stankovac vineyards. Respecting tradition, our vineyards contain traditional varieties of maraschino and pošip, svrdlovina, plavina but we also ventured into the varieties such as sauvignon blanc, merlot, black grenache and syrah. As a family, we believe in creating and exploring new flavors, so we apply this approach with our wines as well.“
